A Current Affair Reporter Arrested For Child Pornography

Ben McCormack, a 42 year old reporter for a TV show called “A Current Affair” airing on Channel 9 in Sydney, Australia was arrested yesterday, and charged with child pornography.

According to Neonnettle, police raided the news station and left the Channel 9 Network Television Studio seizing computers, a mobile phone, and other storage devices after arresting the 25-year veteran reporter, who was one of the network’s most senior staff and is well-known to have powerful connections worldwide.

Police reports state that McCormack wasn’t acting alone and was in communication with “other adults” about child pornography, who were linked to a much larger network of pedophiles that were quite possibly linked with international pedophilia rings operating in the US and Europe.

A statement from the NSW police was quoted as saying, “Police will allege in court the man was engaged in sexually explicit conversations about children with an adult male and discussed child pornography.”

According to 9news.com, The Nine Network announced it has suspended McCormack from his reporting duties.

I can confirm that officers from the New South Wales police have been at TCN this morning investigating matters relating to a staff member at A Current Affair,” Nine’s Director of News and Current Affairs, Darren Wick, said in an email to staff, according to 9 News.

It is reported that the investigation is on-going.
