I am LOVING all of the peace groups I’m finding lately!  I am so excited to share interviews, information, links, videos and upcoming events!  Check back often to get the latest updates.  I’m planning to start a calendar with upcoming events, as well.  Below are some of the things I am anxious to share with all of you:

Join thousands of others for World Peace weekend September 19-21.  Hundreds of organizations are hosting marches, musical celebrations, & meditations around the world.

There will be a Global Synchronized Inner-Peace Broadcast at 5:00 pm PST / 12:00 Midnight GMT on September 19th hosted by BeThePeace.   Then, on Sunday September 20th, there will be a wave of live events at 12:00 Noon in your time zone.  We invite you to organize a meditation, prayer, or ceremony in your native tradition.  Millions of us around the world will focus on creating a foundation of inner peace as the first step towards World Peace.

On Monday, September 21st, we invite you to take peace into the world.  Forgive someone in your life, bring peace into your workplace, or organize a peace project.  You choose how you want to create peace into the world.

Why do we Unify? The purpose of synchronized meditation.

Coming together to meditate may not seem like likely to create a profound change in the world, but we believe that not only does it change the way we see the world, but that there is evidence that it can directly influence both events around us and at a distance.

Unify has been organizing globally synchronised meditations for two and a half years, starting with the much prophesized and speculated-about date of December 21, 2012, the Winter Solstice of that year. There are several meditation events that we organize, or participate in, every year, but the largest ones are timed with the four cardinal points of the year, the June and December Solstices and the March and September Equinoxes. At that time people gather together around the world and focus their prayers and meditations collectively as one. Or, as we say, we ‘Unify’!

Some people gather in physical events where hundreds of people meditate in public spaces, at festivals, or at other locations. A lot of people join in from around the world individually, or in small groups in their homes, gardens, or local parks. Through the power of social media and the internet, we organise across the planet and in dozens of countries and bioregions. The next one is going to be at Noon, Pacific Time on June 21 and for the first time we have more than 10,000 people committed to meditate at the same time together.

Why do we do this? Well, firstly, it’s fun. Meditation has many direct health benefits that have been repeatedly proven. It clears the mind, it reduces stress, it allows you to step out of the day-to-day runnings of the world and into the self-existing emptiness that is always there. Meditating can give us new perspectives, creates the room for new insights to come through, and relaxes both the mind and body into an integrated state of functioning. Joining together with other people to meditate reinforces the practice. It can make it easier to sit and just make time to breath, reflect, and be empty for a few moments.

The Health benefits of Meditation:

We also Unify because we believe that it makes a difference to the collective consciousness of the planet. To understand how this works, you need to look at the research that has been done by organisations like Transcendental Meditation on the effects group meditation has on crime rates locally, or the research that the Global Coherence Initiative has done on positive impact of people engaging in meditation can have, not just on those participating, but on everyone around them. No matter what you believe, ‘Unifying’ is still fun, healthy, and may just raise your vibration as well as those of the people around you and the planet as a whole.



The Gaiafield Project is another great organization to check out.  In collaboration with other leading organizations in the field, they convene regular public subtle activism programs intended to support greater peace, sustainability, and social justice in our world.

They are also supporters of the Summer of Peace project and also have many setting up groups to participate in the World Peace Weekend going on September 19th-21st.

Building peace one day at a time

Jeremy Gilley is an actor turned filmmaker, who founded Peace One Day, a non-profit organisation, and in 2001 Peace One Day’s efforts were rewarded when the member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September – Peace One Day’s objective is to institutionalise Peace Day 21 September, making it a day that is self-sustaining, an annual day of global unity, a day of intercultural cooperation on a scale that humanity has never known.

Throughout the years, millions of people have been active on Peace Day in every country of the world, and hundreds of organisations have carried out life-saving activities in  all areas. Through our own initiatives and collaborations with various parties, Peace One Day will set out to encourage organisations and individuals take specific actions to reduce violence around the theme: Who Will You Make Peace With?


There are so many wonderful groups out there encouraging and teaching peace.  One other one I want to mention is The Shift Network.  The Shift Network empowers a global movement of people who are creating an evolutionary shift of consciousness that in turn leads to a more enlightened society, one built on principles of peace, sustainability, health, and prosperity.  They have lots of online articles and courses.

The Shift Network creates numerous events to empower you in personal transformation and collective change work, many of them for free.  One of the many they offer is 8 Weeks to Shift from Ego to Essence.
